Rachel will be interviewed by Karen Pitchforth, Associate Director at Headstar, in the Fireside Chat: Females in Finance session. The discussion will explore career progression, leadership, and the realities of building influence as a senior finance professional.
Rachel Griffin FCA CTA is a Fractional Finance Director working with ambitious businesses across the creative sector, helping founders and leadership teams build financially robust, scalable organisations. Known for combining technical rigour with a pragmatic, commercial approach, Rachel enjoys supporting businesses through periods of growth, change, and strategic decision-making.
Rachel qualified with PwC before moving into industry with Provident Financial plc and International Personal Finance plc, gaining experience in large, complex organisations. She later joined Definition as Finance Director and went on to become co-CEO, where she played a central role in the acquisition and integration of six businesses. Working closely with corporate finance advisers, lenders, and legal teams, she helped guide the group through a series of successful transactions while maintaining operational stability and financial discipline.
Alongside her professional achievements, Rachel has shaped her career around a strong commitment to family and personal growth. She has taken several career breaks at different stages of her journey, including six months travelling the world soon after qualifying, several years focused on raising her four children, and a year living in the United States with her young family. These experiences have reinforced her perspective, resilience, and ability to adapt—qualities she brings to her work today.
A prize winner in her CTA examinations, Rachel combines deep technical expertise with the empathy and flexibility that come from a varied career path. She is passionate about helping creative businesses translate vision into sustainable financial success, providing clear insight, steady leadership, and a trusted partner at the table.
