Booking is filling up for Confident Conversations, the next HerFinance Circle event taking place in just a few weeks time on Wednesday 18th March 2026 in Leeds.
This session is the first CPD-accredited HerFinance Circle event, providing 1.5 hours of recognised CPD learning for senior finance leaders. An official CPD certificate will be issued following the event.
Handling challenging conversations with confidence
The Confident Conversations topic was selected by HerFinance Circle members and focuses on a challenge many senior finance professionals face regularly – how to communicate clearly, challenge effectively and maintain influence when conversations are difficult or high-stakes.
Led by Diane Coolican, Founder of RedSky Leadership Development, the session is grounded in real workplace experience rather than theory. Diane brings over 20 years’ experience supporting senior leaders across finance and other sectors, with a particular focus on communication, confidence and behavioural change.
What the session covers
This high-impact interactive session will help you build awareness of how you communicate and how to increase your effectiveness in challenging situations. You’ll explore:
- Your personal communication style and how it shows up under pressure
- Why certain messages fail to land and how to address this
- Practical techniques for challenging constructively
- How to stay clear, confident and in control during difficult conversations
- Ways to avoid being derailed while still maintaining positive working relationships
The learning is practical, structured and directly applicable to senior finance leadership roles.
Alongside the facilitated sessions, there will be ample networking opportunities to connect with other senior finance women, share experiences and reflect on how to apply the learning in your own role and organisation.
