You know those ledgers that look fine… until you dig into the detail and realise there’s a trail of unpaid invoices, mismatched statements, and customers who promise the cheque’s in the post?
That’s what you’ll be sorting out.

And if that doesn’t faze you, you’re probably the one we want to talk to.
This is a Credit Controller role with a growing business that’s scaling fast. Growth brings opportunity and a few loose ends. You’ll be the one who ties them up. The calm voice on the phone. The person who knows when to chase hard, when to listen, and how to keep cash coming in without burning bridges.

You’ll take ownership of your ledger, working closely with Finance and Sales to make sure what’s in the system reflects what’s really happening. Because numbers only tell the truth if someone makes sure they do.

This isn’t for someone who just fires off reminder emails. It’s for someone who likes solving problems, fixing processes, and bringing order to chaos. You’ll have the freedom to get things running smoothly and the support to keep them that way.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the end-to-end credit control process from raising invoices to collecting payments.
  • Chasing overdue accounts, reducing aged debt, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Reconciling customer accounts and resolving queries before they turn into disputes.
  • Negotiating payment terms and installment plans where needed.
  • Producing debtor reports and flagging risk areas early.
  • Working with the finance team at month-end to ensure accuracy.
  • Suggesting and implementing ways to make credit control smarter and more efficient.

What you’ll bring:

  • Solid experience in Credit Control.
  • A proactive, methodical approach chasing debt without being a robot about it.
  • Strong communication skills written, verbal, and diplomatic.
  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and keep on top of deadlines.
  • An eye for process improvement and a genuine sense of ownership.
  • Bonus points if you’ve handled multi-currency or international accounts.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary up to £32,000 depending on experience.
  • Office-based role you’ll work on-site with the team every day.
  • A supportive, down-to-earth finance team that gets things done.
  • Modern systems, clear processes, and a culture that values getting it right the first time.

If you get satisfaction from clearing aged debt, love a tidy ledger, and enjoy leaving things better than you found them, this one’s for you.
