They’re not precious about qualifications right now, but if it goes permanent, having (or working towards) AAT, CIMA or ACCA would put you in a stronger position.

You’ll be stepping in to support a stretched finance team with the month-end process. That means owning reconciliations across spreadsheets, fuel and repair costs, and getting a grip on the haulage revenue side of things.

If you’ve handled vehicle charging, or know your way around assigning costs per asset, that’s a big plus. Same goes for accruals and prepayments. If you can calculate them, brilliant. If you’ve only input them, that’ll still do the job.

The assistant accountant role will give you immediate responsibility and visibility. You’ll get the lay of the land fast and take pressure off a team that really needs it.

There’s no rigid box-ticking here. They want someone who’s sharp, switched-on, and can start making a difference without hand-holding.
