Management Accountant
Like your numbers to add up, but also want to know what they actually mean for the business?
I’m working with a growing, acquisitive business in Bradford, who are looking for a Management Accountant who can get stuck into the detail, improve how things are done and help the wider business make better decisions.
It’s a hands-on reporting role, working closely with the Finance Manager, the reporting team and senior leadership. You’ll have responsibility for getting accurate numbers out on time, but also making sure they’re useful.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲:
• Produce weekly and monthly P&L accounts and supporting reports
• Own monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances
• Support month-end, working with the reporting and transactional teams to meet deadlines
• Analyse costs and variances to highlight areas requiring attention
• Work with senior leadership to support business decisions and strategic objectives
• Provide accurate information for year-end audit
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and reporting
• Pick up ad hoc analysis to support operational activity
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿:
• CIMA, ACCA, ACA studying or qualified
• Solid management accounting and month-end experience
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and formulas
• An interest in process improvement and variance analysis
• Someone who builds strong stakeholder relationships and can work through problems
• A proactive approach, with the ability to manage deadlines in a busy environment
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗲𝘁:
• £40,000 – £45,000 salary
• Study suppor
• Workplace pension and healthcare cash plan
• Life insurance
• Birthday day off
• Holiday buy/sell scheme
• Free on-site gym and parking
It’s a good opportunity for an accountant who enjoys getting the reporting right, building relationships across the business and finding better ways of working, rather than simply producing numbers and moving on.
