Interim Finance Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of an established, independent creative services business with a strong reputation for commercial thinking and long-standing client relationships.

They operate where strategy meets creativity and performance. Structured. Collaborative. Accountable.

They are now looking to appoint an Interim Finance Manager for a 12–18 month period.

The Opportunity:
This is a part-time role, could be 3 or 4 days per week – offering hybrid working (working to approx. 60% of time in the office).

Reporting to the Finance Director and managing a Management Accountant, the role provides oversight, structure and intelligent challenge across the finance function.

This is not a maintenance role.

It is a strengthening role.

A steady, commercially-minded presence to ensure accuracy, insight and continuous improvement.

The Role:
The Interim Finance Manager will:

  • Oversee month-end processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review monthly management accounts and provide clear commercial insight
  • Analyse performance trends and recommend action where required
  • Ensure invoicing, supplier processing and reconciliations are completed effectively
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity
  • Review VAT returns prior to submission
  • Oversee payroll, pension and HMRC submissions
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Forecasting & Cashflow
  • Work with senior stakeholders to maintain accurate revenue forecasts
  • Provide weekly revenue updates to the board
  • Review and challenge weekly cashflow forecasts
  • Flag risks early and propose pragmatic solutions
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting across the business
  • Prepare draft financial statements and support year-end processes

About You:

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified – or equivalent
  • Proven experience overseeing a small finance function
  • Strong communicator, confident working with senior stakeholders
  • Organised, process-driven and detail-focused
  • Experience within a service-based environment advantageous but not essential
  • You bring clarity to numbers.
  • You strengthen systems.
  • You raise standards.

The Package:

  • £45,000 – £55,000 FTE (depending on experience)
  • 25 days holiday (pro rata, excluding bank holidays)
