Interim Finance Lead (6 – 9 months)
Some interim roles are there to keep the lights on. This isn’t one of them. I’m working on an interim Finance Lead / Local Finance Expert opportunity with an international manufacturing business based in Northallerton. They need someone who can come in, take ownership and make an immediate impact across the UK finance function.
The role:
You’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end accounting activities for the UK entity, with a broad remit covering:
• UK statutory accounting and financial reporting
• UK GAAP, IFRS and group reporting
• VAT compliance and HMRC interaction
• Corporation tax and statutory requirements
• Audit management and external advisors
• Internal controls and financial risk
• Supporting international/group finance requirements
• Monitoring changes in UK accounting and tax legislation
This is a genuine hands-on interim assignment. They’re not looking for someone who needs months to find their feet. They need someone who can get under the skin of the numbers, understand the risks, work with stakeholders and keep everything moving.
What they’re looking for:
Ideally, you’ll be a qualified, part-qualified or QBE accountant with strong UK accounting knowledge and solid experience around statutory reporting. You’ll need to be comfortable with:
• UK GAAP; IFRS
• VAT; corporation tax
• Statutory accounts
• External audit
• HMRC / external advisors
• Working autonomously in an international environment
Experience of SAP, multinational businesses, transfer pricing or international VAT would be a big plus.
The business itself is a large, international specialist manufacturer operating across multiple markets, with a strong presence internationally. They’ve got the scale and complexity you’d expect from a global organisation, but this role needs someone who is comfortable rolling their sleeves up and getting involved. If you’re an experienced finance professional who enjoys ownership, variety and being the person who knows what’s going on, this could be a very good interim opportunity.
