As part of a wider international manufacturing group, the UK operation is strengthening how it reports, plans, and controls performance across both manufacturing and sales. Finance is central to that change, not as a reporting function, but as a driver of insight and action.
Theyโre now looking for a Cost Accountant who is comfortable being close to the operation, understands how factories really work, and can turn complex data into clear, usable information for senior leadership.
What you’ll really be doing:ย
- Youโll sit at the intersection of manufacturing, sales, and senior management, acting as a true finance business partner.
- Partner closely with senior site leadership
- ย Help build a KPI-driven controlling environment for the factory
- Review and improve standard costing and costing methodologies
- Analyse and track cost variances, driving corrective actions
- Support stock control, inventory management, and reporting
- Build and develop Power BI reports focused on production performance
- Support the UK Managing Director with sales reporting, planning, and forecasting
- Drive financial planning for both the manufacturing site and the UK sales organisation
- Support month-end close and group reporting for three UK entities
- Contribute to statutory reporting, VAT, and UK tax processes
This is a role where youโll be expected to challenge existing processes, improve visibility, and simplify reporting, not just produce numbers.
What do you need?ย
- Part Qualified โ ACCA or CIMA
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in management reporting, FP&A, and analysis
- Solid understanding of standard costing and variance analysis
- Comfortable working with ERP systems (Dynamics AX experience is advantageous)
- Advanced Excel capability and hands-on Power BI experience
- Commercial, analytical, and self-driven
- Confident communicator who can work across functions
- Working knowledge of UK statutory reporting, VAT, and direct tax
- Experience operating in decentralised, matrix organisations
