This business is looking for a Credit Controller (with a brain for systems, not just spreadsheets).
Let’s not pretend this is just another “chase the debt, send the email, rinse and repeat” credit control role, because it isn’t.
This is for someone who looks at a messy aged debtor report and thinks: “there’s a smarter way to run this.” Someone who doesn’t just want to manage cashflow, they want to engineer it.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll own the credit control function across a group of partner businesses. That means full visibility, full responsibility, and a genuine opportunity to improve how things are done.
- Take control of aged debt by reviewing, prioritising, and chasing with intent (not just sending blanket reminders)
- Get stuck into queries and disputes, resolving them quickly and properly
- Escalate where needed and manage the more complex/problem accounts with confidence
- Keep cash coming in and debtor days heading in the right direction
𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵:
- You’ll bring consistency to processes, e.g. how clients are set up, how they’re chased, how information is tracked
- You’ll help shape forecasting by understanding what’s coming in, what isn’t, and why
- You’ll support the wider finance function with allocations, reconciliations, and month-end
𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵a𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺, 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘹 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘣𝘺:
- Building out smarter reporting in Power BI
- Automating reminders or workflows outside of the core ERP
- Creating better visibility on risk and performance
This isn’t a “stay in your lane” environment. If you can improve it, you’ll be encouraged to.
What do you need:
- 2–3+ years in credit control / accounts receivable
- A solid grasp of how good credit control should work (and where it usually falls down)
But the difference-maker here is mindset.
What’s in it for you:
- You’ll be offered an annual salary of up to £35k (with the opportunity for study support if desired).
- Hybrid working (2-3 days working from home).
- Leeds City Centre location with modern offices.
- Private medical and healthcare plan.
- Full autonomy to run things how you see fit and the chance to make an impact.
