Credit Control Analyst
There’s a big difference between a Credit Controller who can chase overdue invoices and one who can work out why they aren’t being paid in the first place.
This role needs the latter.
The billing processes are complex, the volume of transactions is high and the finance systems don’t always make life easy.
You’ll be managing a portfolio of accounts, keeping on top of overdue debt, resolving disputes and making sure cash comes in on time.
The more interesting part is everything that sits behind it.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲:
• Managing a portfolio of accounts and keeping overdue debt under control.
• Analysing payment patterns and identifying potential issues before they become bigger problems.
• Investigating billing discrepancies, resolving disputes and getting to the bottom of delayed payments.
• Working across multiple finance systems and client billing portals.
• Using Excel to analyse data, reconcile accounts and identify trends.
• Liaising with senior stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues and improve payment performance.
• Producing reports and providing meaningful information on debt, cash collection and debtor days.
• Identifying inefficiencies in existing processes and finding better ways of doing things.
This isn’t a particularly good fit for someone whose experience is limited to running aged debt reports and sending chasing emails.
There’s a lot more problem-solving involved, and the ability to get useful information out of systems and spreadsheets is just as important as being good on the phone.
It would suit a Credit Controller who enjoys the investigative side of the job, likes working with data and doesn’t need someone to tell them what to do every five minutes.
