Accounts Assistant
If you’re a Finance Administrator who enjoys getting stuck into the detail, taking ownership of your workload and being part of a business where your contribution actually matters, this could be worth a look.
This is a varied role, you’ll be looking after the day-to-day transactional finance, keeping things running smoothly and supporting the Management Accountant with month-end reporting.
There’s a good mix of responsibility here, and you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in more than just processing invoices.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴:
• Managing the sales and purchase ledgers, including invoicing, allocations and supplier payments.
• Looking after credit control and keeping on top of outstanding balances.
• Completing bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Preparing payment runs and processing employee expenses.
• Assisting with VAT returns.
• Supporting the Management Accountant with month-end accounts, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Monitoring company expenditure and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Dealing with finance queries and supporting the wider business with general administration.

You’ll ideally have experience in a similar role, with an understanding of transactional finance.
Experience using Sage and Excel would be useful, along with the ability to manage your own workload without needing someone to constantly look over your shoulder.
More importantly, you’ll be organised, reliable and comfortable dealing with people across the business.
You don’t need to be someone who wants to become a Finance Director in five years. If you’re good at what you do, enjoy working in finance and want a role where you’re trusted to get on with things, that’s absolutely fine.
