Finance Director

200% business growth. Double-digit EBIT improvement. 10 years at the helm. Now its someone else’s turn.

After 10 years, the Finance Director is moving on to pastures new. And he’s leaving behind a pretty impressive legacy. A financially healthy £150m turnover business, an established Finance team and a culture that’s kept people around for years.

There’s a reason he’s stayed so long. Good people. A strong culture. A leadership team that’s genuinely invested in the future of the business. And now there’s an opportunity for someone else to come in and make their mark. This isn’t a turnaround job. You’re not walking into a mess that needs fixing. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do. The business has grown significantly, and Finance needs to keep evolving with it. Better systems. Greater commercial insight. More structure. A more corporate feel & touch as it enters its next phase of growth. And someone who can challenge the status quo without introducing process for the sake of it. Roles like this don’t come around very often. You’re inheriting something good. The opportunity is to make it even better.

What you’ll be doing:
>Leading and developing an established Finance team.
>Working closely with the MD and senior leadership team to influence commercial decisions and future strategy.
>Getting under the skin of the business, working across operations, sales, procurement and multiple sites.
>Improving visibility and control across inventory, working capital and business performance.
>Strengthening financial controls, processes and reporting without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
>Making better use of systems and data, including Microsoft Dynamics 365.

What we’re looking for:
> A qualified accountant with proven FD or senior finance leadership experience.
> Experience in a sizeable, complex business, ideally £100m+ turnover, with a corporate or listed background.
> Commercially sharp, but happy to roll your sleeves up and get into the detail.
> A track record of developing teams, improving processes and driving change.
> Experience of ERP transformation or optimisation.
> Someone who can challenge the status quo, build relationships and bring people along with them.

Why would you want it?
Because not every FD opportunity involves inheriting a successful business with a strong culture, a good team and the backing of an international group. Youll have the autonomy to make a real difference across the UK and Ireland business, without spending your first year firefighting. Theres genuine scope to influence strategy, develop people and shape what Finance looks like for the next stage of growth.

The outgoing FD has spent 10 years building something successful. What could you do with the next five?
