Interim Management Accountant
This isn’t a role for someone who just wants to process numbers and tick boxes.
This is for a Management Accountant who wants ownership, visibility, and the chance to genuinely influence how the division is reported and understood across a large UK business.
The organisation is going through a period of operational focus and needs a strong pair of hands to take control of key areas of the monthly management accounts.
You’ll take ownership of specific areas of the UK division P&L within the monthly management accounts, making sure everything is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
This includes:
- Owning sections of the monthly UK divisional management accounts
- Preparing and reviewing accruals and prepayments with clear supporting documentation
- Delivering meaningful reporting with strong variance analysis vs budget and forecast
- Providing clear, commercially focused commentary on performance, risks, and opportunities
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving issues quickly
- Working closely with FP&A to support forecasting and budgeting cycles
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across month end and reporting
- Supporting senior stakeholders with ad hoc analysis and insight when required
What they’re looking for
- Part qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA preferred)
- Strong background in management accounting and month end
- Solid technical accounting knowledge
- Confident working with divisional and P&L reporting
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn numbers into insight
- Comfortable communicating with non-finance stakeholders
- Organised, resilient, and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, collaborative, and focused on improving processes
