Most job ads for Accounts Payable roles read like someone fell asleep on their keyboard after copy-pasting a finance textbook. Here’s the truth instead.

You’ll be doing the stuff you already know how to do:

• Processing a shedload of invoices
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Handling credit card transactions
• Dealing with queries (with the grace of a Zen master or at least pretending you care)
• Making sure Navision doesn’t implode from inaccurate data

In short, you’ll keep things ticking over, so suppliers stay happy and no one’s screaming about a missing payment while you’re just trying to finish your coffee.

There’s some post collection and phone answering too. But let’s be real – it’s all part of being the kind of person who gets stuff done without needing a medal for it.

What you need:

• Experience in Accounts Payable (obviously)
• A brain that likes accuracy
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel is your frenemy)
• Navision knowledge = bonus points
• A nice phone voice wouldn’t hurt, apparently

You don’t need a degree in theoretical astrophysics. Just be organised, good with people, and okay with routine – because this role is a bit routine.

That’s kind of the point. It needs someone who finds satisfaction in the details.
