This is a big role. You’ll be reporting directly to the MD, and if you prove yourself, you could even be part of his succession plan. This isn’t just about running the numbers; it’s about stepping up, taking ownership, and being a key player in the future of the business.
They’re part of a listed group, so the numbers need to be tight. That means deadlines actually matter. So, if you’re the kind of FC who thinks month-end should drag on for weeks, this won’t be for you.
You’ll be leading a team, making sure the finance function runs like a well-oiled machine. And because they deal with long-term contracts, you’ll need to know your way around contract accounting and revenue recognition—this isn’t just about adding up invoices.
They export all over the world, so foreign exchange plays a part too. If you’ve got experience dealing with multi-currency transactions, even better. What you won’t be doing is firefighting. This isn’t some chaotic, loss-making business desperately trying to plug holes. It’s a stable operation that needs a strong leader in finance to keep it running smoothly and help it grow.
What you’ll need:
- Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced finance function
- A track record of leading teams and getting the best out of people
- Knowledge of contract accounting & revenue recognition would be beneficial
- An understanding of foreign exchange would be a huge plus
- A mindset that values in-person collaboration—because that’s how they work best
- The ambition to step up and shape the future of the business
