You know how some finance jobs feel like you’re just plugging numbers into spreadsheets all day? This isn’t one of those.

This is a growing business, which means things change. You won’t be trapped in a never-ending loop of processing invoices and reconciling bank statements (though, yes, you’ll do some of that). You’ll also get involved in improving processes, solving problems, and generally making the finance function run more smoothly.

You’ll need to be the kind of person who notices when something doesn’t add up, quite literally. If you like fixing things before they become problems, you’ll fit in well here.

The team is small but ambitious. You’ll report to the Finance Manager, who actually wants to develop their team rather than just delegate work to them.

What you’ll be doing?

• Managing purchase and sales ledgers (because this stuff still needs doing) Bank reconciliations and payment runs
• Assisting with month-end processes
• Supporting the Finance Manager with reporting and analysis
• Getting involved in process improvements (because “we’ve always done it this way” isn’t a good enough reason)

What you’ll need:

• Some solid finance experience—maybe you’re AAT-qualified or working towards it
• A brain that can spot discrepancies and work out why they’ve happened
• A willingness to take ownership of your work rather than just following instructions

You’ll be offered an annual salary of £28k. Workout out of newly refurbished offices in Harrogate – it’s a nice place to work, plus you’ll be part of a team that actually likes each other.
